first day? nope. today we had our first 15 minutes of school as both of the girls went in their allotted time slot to meet their teachers, find their cubbies and get the lay of the land. we had done this a few days ago at a school open house, so today it was really all about the official first day photos.
and since we’re on a modified schedule this week, i am NOT freaking out that i have a kindergartner. monday will likely be another story. i have a feeling that someone’s brother and sister as well as this mama will be missing her a lot next week.
and then there’s ladybug and her first full year of preschool. she’s more than ready. i’ve added her teacher to my list of prayers as oh my does she not know what she’s in for with this girl.
i see a lot of dress wearing to school in our future. never thought we’d be doing that, but that was the request. seemed to be the norm of the little girls we crossed path with this am.
tried to get a photo of the menagerie together and caught the handsome boy mid-sneeze. of course, it was the only photo where both of the girls were looking at the camera.
if you looked up “kindergarten teacher” in the dictionary, this is the lovely woman you’d see a photo of. she is amazingly kind and i know we’re going to have a fabulous year with her leading the way. here, she was going over the morning message.
camryn had a scavenger hunt to complete when she was in the classroom – find her cubbie, find the class bathroom, water fountain, etc. each morning, there is always a message for the class to read from their teachers.
another item on the scavenger hunt list? get their photo taken. the teacher told her to pick anywhere she’d like for her photo and i knew she’d pick under the pergola in the middle of the classroom that has two rocking chairs. the perfect spot to read a book if you ask me!
then we headed down the hall for leighton’s preschool visit. cubbie, found! so nice to have a name at the beginning of the alphabet. both girls have the first cubby in their rooms. when i was in school, i was a “w” and always at the end of the list. wah, wah.
that’s a look of admiration towards one of her teachers. a lucky snap.
i think it’s going to be an amazing year. here’s to joining the ranks of the car pool lane!
