Week 30 | July 22-28, 2013.
This Week | Enjoying summer in our new city.
Supplies | 2 Elle’s Studio kits.
Inserts | 0
After a week away from creating, I got this one completed quickly during naptime today. Thank goodness for a couple of kits to making putting everything together easy.
I had bits and pieces of two Elle’s Studio kits left in my stash and mixed them together for this spread. I rarely use 4×6 cards – although I used three this week – so I often trim them into other pieces to suit my layouts. This week’s layout is a great example of that.
Two great quotes from this week, both religious in nature. Whenever the girls say something I want to remember, I e-mail it to myself and then keep it in my inbox until I’m to that week. It easily helps me to keep track of things by date. Possibly a bizarre system, but it works for me!
There was one 4×6 “weekend recap” card included in a kit which I knew I likely woudn’t use as is. Instead, I trimmed it into pieces that made more sense to me. The first is using the actual verbiage on the photo of Andy and Carson together. I also trimmed out the “Sunday” piece to label the lower right hand photo. I actually used a third piece from this card on the lower right photo of the left page. I find I definitely get the most out of my kit this way.
The “happy camper” and “on the menu” cards came from two separate kits but were perfectly coordinated for this spread as my oldest daughter attended a cooking themed camp. Love when I hold onto product to find a perfect use for it in the future!
Here’s hoping I get back into a groove and get two weeks knocked out to share for next week!
