Space | My Office, the space formerly known as the den
What I Love | The amazing natural light and the view to the backyard. Location on the main floor of the house.
What I Don’t Care For | The only issue is the size of the space but I’m determined to make it work.
What I Want To Do Next | Paint, find a place for all supplies. Organize!
With the weather getting cooler outside, house projects have begin to take center stage. We’re doing a bit each evening to help make this house our home. Slowly but surely! This week we’ve painted in the living room and the half bath that I shared last week is close behind. Hoping to make some progress there this weekend.
Today I’m sharing the space where I work during naps and on the occasional evening. I’ve never had an office space on the main floor of our house and it’s made such a difference on how I use the space. This den is on the end of our home, adjacent to the dining room. I love that I’m able to access the space to do something work related if needed, even when the kids are around. In fact, both the menagerie and the cats love to share this space with me. Carson is often hanging out on the floor – often in the cat bad – playing with blocks or looking at books – and Duke and Thomas love the windows and being able to keep an eye on the pesky chipmunks that drive them absolutely crazy.
I’m sharing a photo of how the room was staged when we were looking at the house as it’s a constant work in progress. Last week I finally figured out a storage system that might actually work which was a huge issue as the room is approximately 15′x6″. I love it’s cozy feel but finding a place for all of my “stuff” has been an exercise in patience and figuring out what I truly need.
