Apple Piecaken, you ask?  I've baked an entire apple pie inside a yellow cake and frosted with my Cinnamon Cool Whip Frosting for a one of a kind dessert.

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Prepare cake mix according to package directions.
  • Pour two cups of cake batter into greased 9" springform pan.
  • Place prepared apple pie into springform pan and cover with remaining cake batter.
  • Bake for one hour and allow cake to completely cool before removing from pan.
  • Before serving, frost with Cinnamon Cool Whip Frosting.


TIP:  I like to grease my pan with butter to insure that the cake releases cleanly from the pan.
TIP:  Don't worry if it's a tight squeeze to get the pie into the pan.  The additional cake batter poured on top will go down the sides of the pans to assist in bringing the layers together.
