i've always wanted to participate in ali's december daily project and this is the year that i'm making it happen. december daily is how i'm making myself slow down during this hectic season and truly enjoy the magic around us. i'm not sure how often i'll get around to sharing pages from my album, but i'm going to try and share my photos each day.
december 1st marks the beginning of reading christmas books at our house. this is a tradition we started last year after reading how melissa did this with her family. i wrap - and by i, i really mean my wonderful mother and sister-in-law offered to wrap them while they were here for thanksgiving and i was more than happy to oblige - our christmas books and each night one is unwrapped and read before bedtime. they're all placed under a small christmas tree in C's room until they are all selected.
L had the honor of selecting and unwrapping our first book this year. a small board book i had picked up at the target dollar spot last year to round out our collection. there are several books i would've taken out of the rotation this year as they are getting too young for C but they work perfectly for L so i didn't have to purchase any additional books.
i love that our family's love for reading + love for the holiday can be combined in such a memorable way.
