yesterday i finally got our thanksgiving menu planned. totally snuck up on me. i mean, how is it just a few weeks away? menu done. grocery list made. whew. on to this week’s menu.
monday : six ingredient chicken noodle soup. [new recipe] this was in my to try file and i almost made it for lunch on saturday but didn’t have the chicken i needed. C will no doubt love this – noodles, carrots and peas. sure to be a winner.
tuesday : asian bbq turkey lettuce wraps. the last time i made these, i doubled the batch and put the other half in the freezer another dinner. so happy with myself for doing that!
wednesday : leftovers.
thursday : autumn sausage casserole. yum! i love this dish. and i love that we usually have leftovers as well.
friday : turkey pot pie. yes, we usually have pizza on friday. i’m switching it up. using the remaining turkey from last week’s citrus turkey roast.
saturday [lunch] : pizza. we had gotten into a bad habit of eating out for lunch on saturdays and at times, dinner as well. this is simply me trying to make this happen again as i was successful this past weekend.
saturday [dinner] : chili. an andy request. love this chili.
last week new recipe review
citrus turkey roast. eh. it was good, but i wasn’t over the moon about it. in fact, i didn’t find it citrus in flavor at all, but more garlic-y. i even went back and found the title of the recipe again to insure that it wasn’t titled garlic turkey or something similar. we ate half and i’ll be using the other half for this week’s turkey pot pie. i love pot pie.
italian pasta + bean soup. C and i really enjoyed this one. andy said it was good, but it wasn’t one of his favorites. i loved how quick it was to pull together. especially after having to make my third trip to the pharmacy last week. ugh.
