happy holiday weekend to everyone in the states. i keep forgetting that today is actually a holiday and a break from our normally scheduled monday. that's what happens when your employers live with you and you never truly have a day off, right? crazy girls.
monday : cook out with the neighbors. so thrilled to be getting together with some of our favorite people although a bit sad as the end of summer is here which in the great white north means we won't see a lot of our neighbors for the next couple of months. more like six months or so. i tell andy all the time how much i adore these people and how lucky we are to have them living next door. i'll be bringing chocolate chocolate chip zucchini cupcakes – only in cake form – and greek pasta salad.
tuesday : tacos. i swear… ask my husband what he'd like for dinner any week and he'll tell you two things [1] tacos and [2] meatballs.
wednesday : cranberry roast. i ended up making short ribs instead of this last week. since i already have all the stuff for it, back on the menu it goes!
thursday : tandoori chicken. my new recipe to try for the week. i keep trying new systems as to how to keep track of recipes i've found and pulled from different places that i want to try. trying yet another new system and pulling from that this week. we'll see how it works! there's a reason why i don't make the same things over and over again – there are too many new things to try!
friday : pizza.
last week's new recipe review | marmalade curry chicken
really, this recipe couldn't be any easier which always is a plus in my book. especially if i can throw it together during breakfast. at first, i wasn't sure if i was a fan of this but as i continued to eat, it grew on me. i think i was hesitant because the orange peel in the marmalade was giving it a bit of a bitter taste? definitely more on the spicy side which really is only a concern for C. everyone seemed to enjoy it though, so i'm sure i'll be making it again at some point.
last week's new recipe review | hawaiian ribs
i've been trying to make this for like what, three weeks now? finally i found the amount i needed at the grocery store and away i went. another super easy recipe. and one that made the house smell yummy too. a perfect comfort-y type meal for a rainy evening. all of us enjoyed it and i'll be sure to keep an eye out for short ribs and have them in the freezer for the next time i want to make this.
