One of the things I like most about eating at a great restaurant is that when your dish is served to you, it’s served on a single plate with layers of flavors. It’s not like at home dining where you typically have a main dish and a couple of sides that you enjoy separately. Each layer is great on it’s own but when enjoyed together in a single bite, it’s nothing short of spectacular.

Each bite will have you craving just a little bit more until you look down and realized you’ve basically licked your plate clean. This is the positive of making a quality meal at home as you can always fill your plate a second time – definitely not possible at a restaurant!

Ingredients
- 8 ounces kale leaves, stems removed
- 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
- 18 ounces Seapak Popcorn Shrimp
- 1/4 cup honey
- 3 cups water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1-1/4 cups quick cooking grits
- 1/4 cup cream
- 4 ounces gorgonzola cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
- In a large bowl, add kale and drizzle with olive oil. Toss kale with oil until evenly coated.
- Spread kale into a single layer onto a parchment or silicone lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 22-25 minutes or until crisp.
- Prepare shrimp per package instructions.
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, bring water and salt to a boil.
- Whisk in butter and grits and reduce heat to simmer until mixture is creamy and has thickened.
- Add cream and cheese and whisk together until melted and completely combined.
- Divide grits evenly between four serving plates.
- Top grits with crispy kale and shrimp.
- Drizzle each plate with honey and additional gorgonzola cheese, if desired.
- Serve immediately.
