Chocolate cake, fudgy brownie, another layer of chocolate cake and it's all covered with the most delicious chocolate buttercream. Grab an icy cold glass of milk and prepare to enjoy every last bite of this chocolate nirvana.
Prepare Chocolate Pudding Fudge Cake recipe as written and allow cake layers to cool completely.
Prepare One Bowl Chocolate Fudge Brownies recipe as written, substituting a 9" round cake pan for the 9x13 pan. Bake for 30 minutes or until set. Allow to cool 10 minutes in pan before removing to cool completely.
Prepare 1-1/2 recipes of Dark Chocolate Buttercream Frosting as written.
Place one Chocolate Pudding Fudge Cake layer on cake stand and frost top with approximately 1/3 of Dark Chocolate Buttercream Frosting.
Place One Bowl Chocolate Fudge Brownies layer on top of frosted cake and frost top with approximately 1/3 of Dark Chocolate Buttercream Frosting.
Finally, place second Chocolate Pudding Fudge Cake layer on top of frosted brownie and use remaining frosting to cover the top and outside of the cake.
Garnish top of cake with dark chocolate shavings, if desired.
Notes
To frost your cake without making a mess of your cake plate, slide small strips of wax paper around the outside of the bottom layer. When you're done frosting and adding the chocolate chips, simply slide them out removing the excess.
