Beer Cheese Fondue

Your favorite beer, cheese and onions come together in the perfect, melty dipping sauce for just about anything you can dream of.  This Beer Cheese Fondue makes for a perfect game day appetizer.

I’m so excited to be participating in my first Sunday Supper event.  For those of you not familiar with the Sunday Supper Movement, it centers around gathering around the table with your family to enjoy a meal.  Something I hold so very important in the middle of our everyday chaos.

Today’s theme is Super Game Day Eats.  Being that our love of sports is how Andy and I met, enjoying some of our favorite snacks and appetizers while watching a game is one of our favorite things to do.  Thanks so much to Heather Lynne from Hezzi-D’s Books and Cooks for hosting!

This fondue is an appetizer that we’ve been enjoying for years now.  In fact, as I was making it this last time, I was thinking of all of the people we have enjoyed it with.  Andy’s parents around our miniscule dining room in Columbia, our friends Chris and Travis in Missouri – the only friends we’ve ever had that were also Bears fans, a Super Bowl party with all of the neurosurgery residents in our cramped living room in Madison and just a few weeks ago with new friends here in Cleveland.

Our favorite beer, cheese and onions come together in the perfect melty dipping sauce for cubes of bread, apples, or whatever you’d like.  I also highly recommend trying it with soft pretzels – absolutely divine!

If for some reason you happen to have any leftovers, you might also try it as a spread on your favorite sandwich the next day.  Andy’s dad discovered this shortly after I began making it and I have to agree he’s on to something!
