The 14 most popular recipes – appetizers, main dish and desserts included! – of 2014 on Melanie Makes.

I can now say I’ve been a food blogger for a year now. Granted, when most people ask what I do and I give them that answer they tend to look at me a bit funny before asking additional questions. Yes, I write recipes. Yes, I photograph said recipes – in our dining room no less.
As 2014 comes to a close, I want to take a moment to say a huge thank you to each and every one of you who reads, Pins or comments on my posts here at Melanie Makes. It really does mean so much. I’m so incredibly thankful for the amazing opportunities that have come my way this year and look forward to 2015 and all that it may offer.
With that being said, here are my 14 most popular recipes of this past year:

14. Grilled Barbecue Bacon Meatloaf Sandwich | Runny egg for the win! This was a definite hit with my husband and leftovers were just as amazing. So many amazing layers of flavors sandwiched between two bun halves.

13. Slow Cooker Lentil Brown Rice Tacos | One of my first posts this year and the post that has made us forget all about using ground beef for taco night. Our entire family now prefers this as our go to taco filling.

12. Sweet and Smoky Bacon Brat Burger | Another great burger option! Burger + brat + bacon = winning.

11. Deep Dish Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie | One of my favorite go-to desserts as I always have the ingredients on hand.

10. Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Apple and Bacon | Originally posted in 2013, these Brussels sprouts have become a Thanksgiving staple and are always quick to disappear!

9. Smoky Pistachio Crusted Chicken Tenders | I’m not sure which I like more, the smoky salty crunch of the chicken or the amazing aioli dipping sauce. Forget boring ‘ol chicken nuggets, these chicken tenders are out of this world.

8. Reese’s Pieces Chocolate Chip Cookies | The perfect cookie to fill your cookie jar with – chewy, chocolatey and the perfect amount of peanut butter candy crunch.

7. Creamy Baked Double Cheese and Spinach Dip | I only posted this recipe at the beginning of November and was shocked at how quickly it became so popular. Then again, you can’t go wrong with a double cheese dip!

6. Easy Chicken Dumpling Soup | Another recipe from the beginning of the year, this is our family’s favorite soup. Especially the dumplings!

5. Easy Chicken Pot Pie | Comfort food at it’s absolute finest and one of my first recipes posted when Melanie Makes became a food centered blog. I’ve yet to hear from someone who didn’t fall head over heels over this recipe!

4. Beer Cheese Fondue | Perfect for game day and always on our New Year’s Eve appetizer menu, this fondue is fun – and delicious! – for both children and adults. In fact, our six year old requests it on an almost weekly basis.

3. Bacon Crusted Beer Mac and Cheese | My love letter to my husband which has also been loved by so many since I posted it in February. Two gigantic servings means you don’t have to share!

2. Slow Cooker Chicken Parmesan Sandwiches | Easy is the name of the game with these amazing sandwiches. Perfect when topped with a melty slice of cheese and makes enough to feed a crowd!

1. Rosemary Citrus Shrimp Tacos | These tacos, oh these tacos! They are insanely popular and also take just 15 minutes to make. I remember devouring them early this year with Andy as we watched a basketball game and thinking they were delicious but never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined how much YOU would enjoy them as well!
