This post is sponsored by BLACK+DECKER but my love of the Pivot Vac is all my own.

I feel like this would be my intro for Moms Anonymous…
ME: Hello everyone, I’m Melanie.
YOU: Hi, Melanie!
ME: On a daily basis, I’m the primary caretaker for three children, two cats, a 15 year old turtle and my husband. (Yes, I’m putting him into this category.) They are messy. MESSY. I feel like most of my days are spent picking up messes that I’ve previously taken care of just yesterday or even hours before. It’s like Groundhog Day every day. They make messes, I clean them up. Repeat, repeat, repeat. Can someone please show me how to put an end to his seemingly endless cycle?
Then the heavens would part, and someone hands me the BLACK+DECKER Pivot Vac, what I would soon deem the best handheld vacuum. And I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. Not only do I see myself putting an end to this vicous cycle, but I see the other members of our home being able to help as well.
There are two places that I’m constantly hounding my children to keep picked up, the first being the car. We spend a lot of time in the car driving to and from school. Three round trips, three days a week. Two round trips, two days a week. Please tell me that my car is not alone and that yours looks somewhat like this?
Enter my new best friend, the BLACK+DECKER Pivot Vac. First, I let our middle child choose her brother’s car seat pattern. I’m definitely not a cow print kind of girl. Second, I was disgusted to find just how much of a granola bar was in my son’s seat rather than in his mouth after a trip earlier this morning. Gross.
Normally I’d have to wait for my husband to get home – never going to happen – to drag out the large wet/dry vac to clean up this mess. Or I had the option of heading to the car wash to vacuum out the filth with all three children in tow. That also wasn’t a great option as then they’re sitting in their car seats that obviously need cleaned.

The Pivot Vac makes this daunting task unbelievably easy. I simply grabbed it off of the charger in the house and went to down vacuuming out all of the dirt and debris that had accumulated over the long winter and the last time I had cleaned out my car.
Can I tell you how much I love that you can actually SEE the contents you’re picking up with the vacuum? Yep, that’s pretty much an entire granola bar in crumbles. (Thanks, dear son of mine.)

After the menagerie’s car seats, I tackled the little cracks and crevices around the base of the actual car seats that were littered with sand, leaves and grit. The vacuum’s innovative, patented nozzle pivots to clean up high, down low and even in tight spaces. Let’s just say I filled the canister in no time! The power of this small vacuum is astounding. The cyclonic action spins dust and debris away from the filter keeping suction power strong. And to think I’d been driving around with this stuff in my car for the past few months. Um, gross?!

With a quick flip of the lid, the canister was empty and I was off for another pass.
Such a typical mom thing to be doing. The first super nice day of the year – it was 74 degrees! – and I’m vacuuming out the car as my children play in the yard. They’re living the dream, I tell you.
But not for long…

Although actually, they’re loving the Pivot Vac just as much as I am. Ever since it arrived, they now argue on who gets to use it. I guess that would be my only complaint about it. It’s been added to the list of things the girls like to fight over on who gets to use it first.
I mentioned two areas which are always dirty, always needing picked up? This is that other location – underneath the two barstools at the breakfast bar. This is where the girls eat breakfast and occasionally lunch. They do not sit still and they’re very animated when they gesture with food in their hands. Thus many a crumb end up under their chairs. They take turns cleaning up under their chairs each day. What once was a dreaded task with a small hand broom and dust pan has now become a fun activity thanks to the Pivot Vac. Go figure!
Please tell me you have messes in your home, too! The kind people at BLACK+DECKER have given me an extra Pivot Vac to give to one lucky Melanie Makes reader. See the giveaway widget below to enter.
