The Greater Cleveland Aquarium has been on our to-do list since we arrived in June and tonight we finally made it happen. On a special night, no less! Tonight was the last night of their Hauntaquairum, a family friendly Halloween event that’s INSIDE where it’s warm and dry. A win/win for sure!

Camryn is our animal lover. She knows more about animals than practically anyone I know. She likes to play guessing games where she thinks of an animal and you ask questions to figure out the answer. If you can guess answers like Honey Badger or Basilisk, you’re a more educated animal lover than I.

Our little baker. Can’t believe he kept his costume on the entire evening! I had originally thought to leave him home as we’d be out past his bedtime. So glad I decided to be “fun mom” and take him with us. He had an absolute amazing time, pointing and shrieking with every new discovery.

The aquarium’s exhibits are super kid friendly with glass at the right height to invite children right into the action. So appreciate that.

This tortoise came right over to Camryn as if he wanted the extra attention after his pumpkin snack. She was only happy to oblige.

I loved this turtle – look at his nose! It’s like he has human nostrils that opened and closed when he went under water and then resurfaced.
Verifying what fish were in each tank. She’d guess and then check the list nearby. She was almost always right. She was totally in her element.
The boys were buddies throughout our evening adventure. Carson held onto his bowl and spoon the better part of the night.
This was my favorite exhibit. Jellyfish in the ceiling? Awesome.

The sting ray touch tank was decked out for the holiday as well. I couldn’t believe how many of them were in the tank!

There was also a smaller touch table with a sea urchin, horseshoe crab, starfish and others. A great employee helped each child identify every creature and instructed on how to touch it gently.

With every twist and turn, I was sure we had seen the best and that our tour was ending. And every time I was wrong. The shark tank at the end was absolutely amazing. Complete with scuba divers giving high fives and writing messages on boards inside the tank to communicate with visitors.

Walking through a tunnel full of sharks, rays and other aquatic life was absolutely awe inspiring.

But there was more! After our walk through of the exhibits, there was jugglers, special Halloween crafts, balloon animals and a deejay where the girls enjoyed dancing with their brother.
The perfect ending to a fantastic family evening out.

I was provided tickets by the Greater Cleveland Aquarium for this event in return for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions, as always, are my own.
