last year, i was wondering if i should have gotten an advent calendar for C when lo and behold, one arrives in the mail for her from her nana. such a lucky girl! and even though L really isn't indulging in any treats as of yet, she received an advent calendar this year as well.
both calendars are handmade and have a little bag of goodies tied on for each day. nana goes all out and not only makes the calendars but also provides the goodies. and the best part? she takes the calendars back at the end of the holidays and stores them until she gives them back next year. talk about lucky girls!
C's calendar includes bags of m&ms, chocolate chip teddy grahams, reeses peanut butter cups, mcdonald gift certificates and gummy bears. today's treat was teddy grahams. she was even kind enough to share one with her mama. even though her mama didn't allow her to take yesterday's goodie bag off the calendar due to poor behavior. (i'm mean that way.) instead she enjoyed yesterday's treat after dinner and today's treats post bath. (i'm not too mean.)
L's calendar includes food for her piggy bank. nice! nana even went as far as making papi acquire new pennies for her. they're so shiny that they look fake. and i didn't realize until yesterday that the penny has a new design on the back. go figure. L's face was priceless tonight as she kept looking at me and then the calendar like, "i can't believe you're letting me touch this thing."
