When your four year old is asking on a daily basis if you are making more Dulce de Leche Chocolate Pudding Popsicles, one might get the hint that she rather enjoys them and you finally cracked the code on this whole dulce de leche popsicle business. And you would be right! Friends, after three prior attempts I finally figured out how to include dulce de leche in a frozen treat and have it actually come out of the popsicle mode in tact.

Remember my Dulce de Leche S’mores Brownies? They were the result after two attempts at popsicles and me simply having to walk away from it for a bit. Well, walk away from the idea. I’d never walk away from my favorite way of how to make dulce de leche from sweetened condensed milk! Especially when it makes easy recipes like these Dulce de Leche Chocolate Pudding Popsicles so incredibly delicious.

When I was younger, I absolutely LOVED Jello Pudding Pops. Do you remember those? The chocolate and vanilla swirled pudding frozen onto a stick was my favorite frozen treat. But forget vanilla! And say good-bye to just plain ‘ol pudding! I’ve revamped my childhood favorite into these out of this world Dulce de Leche Chocolate Pudding Popsicles! They couldn’t be easier to make and the end result will have you reaching into the freezer another. (And another…)
NOTE: I used a package of instant pudding to create these popsicles, but using the leftover pudding from my Homemade Chocolate Pudding Pie is another delicious idea! The recipe always yields about two cups extra pudding that I always use to serve my four little ones, but the extra would be perfect for popsicles as well.

The trick to making the dulce de leche popsicle friendly? No layers! If you attempt to make a layered popsicle using it, it absolutely will never set up. As in I waited days and it never happened. Instead, half of the dulce de leche is mixed in with the pudding and the other half is swirled in almost to the point of being completely mixed in. This is key! Learn from my mistakes, friends.
