A peek inside of our family life and what we’re up to at home, week by week.

This week our schedule got a bit back to normal as the daddy of the house went back to work after being home with us for two weeks. Truman went into a bit of withdrawl as he loved having him around all the time.
That also meant I was on my own for the first time with my menagerie of four. Luckily we survived without much chaos. Tuesday I took everyone to Target and we hit the Starbucks drive-thru as a reward for surviving it all. The rest of the week passed quickly with movie watching, a play date, getting groceries and swimming lessons. Someone at swimming lessons told me I was brave for bringing all four of them. I wasn’t sure how I should’ve responded. Was I supposed to leave someone at home?

The day the big girls went on a play date, Carson decided to not take a nap. Of course he fell asleep on the way to get them and didn’t wake up until we were almost home. Side note: I took the littlest two to get groceries after dropping the girls off that morning. Carson felt like the king of the world as he was suddenly promoted to being able to walk in the store instead of being regulated to the cart. I lost count of how many times I reminded him to “look with his eyes instead of his hands.”

Andy’s sister had gifted this onesie to Kellyn and while I was taking a quick photo to send to her noting that she’ll be able to wear it for awhile – seriously, not over the fact that I have a small baby! – she struck this pose. This girl has fingernails like daggers and I have her in mittens most of the time to protect herself.

The menagerie is lucky to have the best great-grandmother in the universe. Bunny, as we affectionately call her, is Andy’s grandmother and decided that if Camryn was helping buckle Carson into his car seat at times, she might enjoy some fingerless mittens like mine. She was over the moon when she opened up her surprise package this week.
Yesterday I got back our family photos we took just last week. Cleveland and NE Ohio locals, if you’re looking for a photographer I can’t recommend Sarah enough. She was absolutely amazing with our family and putting everyone at ease. I loved what she did so much that I’ve already added us to her list of families that want photos taken in the fall for holiday cards.
Wish me luck for the next week… After a two week spring break, Monday it’s back to the school routine and this time it will be with a newborn in tow. Is it bad that I’ve already counted and we only have 10 weeks of school left until summer vacation?
