Melanie Makes at Home 2015 – Week 20

A peek inside of our family life and what we’re up to at home, week by week.

While we were eating lunch on Sunday, Leighton says something like “It feels like I lost a tooth.”  Of course, this crazy girl is always chattering away and I know I said something like, “Really?”, and went back to eating my lunch.  Not five minutes later she said the same thing to Andy and he looked in her mouth and sure enough, she had lost her tooth!  She must’ve swallowed it without realizing it.  A definite memorable first lost tooth!

Andy took this week off to be able to attend Leighton’s PreK class play and Camryn’s First Grade Music Performance.  While he was outside doing yard work, I was inside getting lunch together and Carson decided to bring his trains into the kitchen and set them up there.  He created this entire track by himself except for the last piece that I helped with to connect everything together.

Because Andy was outside most of the week, these two decided to have their lunch outside and watch the cars go by.  They are so similar in mannerisms and are either fighting like cats and dogs or as thick as thieves.  Love seeing how different my children’s interactions are with one another.

On Friday, we kicked off the weekend by roasting hot dogs and s’mores outside on the fire pit.  I think this was the first time the menagerie had eaten hot dogs and they were all over it.  Obviously Carson enjoyed the condiments on his.

It’s hard to believe that our baby girl is now two months old.  Here are a few things about Kellyn at two months:

• Goes to bed around 8:30p and I wake her up at 7a on school days.
• Sleeps through the night or gets up once around 4a to eat.  It’s like she has an internal alarm that goes off around 4a each morning.  It’s almost humorous.
• Is now 13 pounds – 5 pounds more than her birth weight.
• Has outgrown her 3 month clothes.
• Has the craziest hair – long in the back and sticks straight up on top.
• Enjoys going on walks and usually sleeps through them no matter how long they are.
• Can usually be settled down by being in the Ergo if she’s fussy.
• Loves being naked and being in the bath.  Both always make her happy.
