three years ago today, i was doing something a bit more intense than menu planning. today our baby girl turns 3. how is that even possible? so it’s a day full of celebrating and doing whatever she wishes. which is pretty close to a typical day around here.
to help celebrate miss C’s birthday, let’s have a giveaway, shall we? a few weeks ago when planning our menu, i ran across a new site called grocery server. what is it, you ask? think of it as your one stop site for finding the best deals for whatever is on your grocery list each week at many of the grocery stores in your area. grocery server lets you search for everything on your list, compare prices and deals at local stores, and shop with printed lists and mobile apps. how awesome, right?
you create your shopping list. filter by store. add or eliminate items. and then print your shopping list. grocery server pulls deals from national manufacturer coupons, weekly circulars and in-store specials so you can guarantee that you really are getting the best deal in town.
for example, here is the shopping list created from my meal plan below. i’ve already created everything for you so if you’d like, simply cheat off my menu and call it good for this week. or better yet…
grocery server has given me a $25 gift card to your favorite grocery store to giveaway to one lucky winner! the giveaway will begin today and end on sunday, march 13th. one winner will receive a $25 gift card.
to enter : go to grocery server and find a coupon for your favorite healthy snack – did you know march is national nutrition month? for ultimate savings, you can find your snack on sale near you to get maximum savings when paired with your coupon. then simply leave a comment with what your snack choice was and how much the total price of your snack would be. that’s all there is to it!
i’ll select one winner from all entries to receive the gift card to your favorite grocer and post the winner with next week’s menu plan.
on to this week’s menu :
monday | breakfast : cake batter pancakes. the perfect way for the birthday girl to start her day as she absolutely adores sprinkles. found this recipe on pinterest – that site is so addicting!
monday | dinner : chicken noodle soup. the birthday girl’s dinner request and a family favorite.
tuesday : enchilada casserole. i need to photograph this and put it on my recipejournal so that i can share the recipe. this is the meal that i’d request for my birthday.
wednesday : leftovers. gotta keep the fridge cleaned out!
thursday : chicken in a pot with garlic. from my “to try” binder of torn out magazine pages. a rachel ray recipe that calls for 35 cloves of garlic. at least all of us will smell garlic-y, right?
friday : pizza. my favorite toppings? pepperoni, green peppers + pineapple.
