another monday, another menu. and this week, i'll actually attempt to cook dinner. L seems to have the same witching hour of sorts that C did when she was an infant, so it could be an interesting process. i see lots of crockpot meals in my future… i seriously need to go to the store this week. or i need to have groceries delivered. any hints on taking two littles to the grocery store would definitely be appreciated. i took them both to target on friday – go me! – and with L in her infant seat in the cart and C sitting in the front there wasn't much room to actually buy anything. granted, andy would think this is a good thing.
monday : leftovers. we were blessed with another meal from a friend from my bible study last night and we will be finishing it up tonight.
tuesday : dinner from a friend. another meal from a fellow bible study mama. she was kind enough to switch her date when i realized that andy was going to be out of town when she had originally scheduled to come over. C and i are pretty low maintenance for meals when he isn't around. give us some veggies and we're all good. looking forward to catching up with another friend!
wednesday : breakfast for dinner. i'm thinking waffles or pancakes. i'll likely let C decide which she'd like when the time comes. love being able to freeze the leftovers for future breakfasts.
thursday : dinner from a friend. i didn't realized she had signed up to bring us dinner until yesterday – definitely a wonderful surprise. it's probably a bit sad how happy it made me. our last gifted meal which means i truly need to get my act together for menu planning next week! this same friend brought me a chai + muffins yesterday morning and came over to watch C at 6:30 in the morning when i went to the hospital to have L. seriously a gem in the friend department! i seriously think that getting meals from people post-baby has been the greatest gift ever. so much so that i volunteered to help coordinate this within the significant other group for residents next year. such a big help and item off of this mama's plate!
although we'll be getting dinner from someone, i'm going to attempt to take dinner to another family. crazy? likely. a friend from church who lives in our neighborhood had her third child on andy's birthday and had to have an unexpected c-section. knowing how much we've enjoyed meals arriving on our doorstep, i couldn't help but to offer to do the same for her. it looks to be gorgeous this week so if it isn't raining, i plan on putting L in my moby wrap and C and dinner in the wagon and walking her meal to her. so very green of us!
friday : pizza. as if i even need to put friday's on my meal plan!
