this is for real this go round. i'm being thrown back in the kitchen and must get back to work. or we might starve. not really, but something bad might happen. this also means i'll be braving the grocery store for a real trip versus my test run last week which consisted mostly of fruit and milk.
monday : baked chicken penne. this one is coming from the freezer. i remember making a double batch of it the night before C's birthday as we were putting things together and doing a bit of decorating. loved the combination of mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes.
tuesday : tacos. who doesn't love tacos? and who doesn't love how easy they'll be for me to put together? especially if we've been playing outside previously. all the prep work can be done during nap time.
wednesday : meatballs in peanut chile sauce. looking forward to this one. super easy to dump everything in the crockpot and love the kick it has. and of course, C and andy think meatballs should be a food group. although go figure, C isn't a big meat fan otherwise.
thursday : leftovers. everyone has to have a leftovers day, right?
friday : pizza. because friday always = pizza, right? this week i'm going to gather the ingredients to make our own and have C help out. i think she'll enjoy it.
saturday : steak sandwiches with sauteed mushrooms and spinach. from the latest everyday food magazine – one of my absolute favorite foodie mags. mushrooms and spinach are on sale this week – perfect timing to try this one!
also wanting to try this week…
baked oatmeal - andy asked for granola bars to be added to the grocery list. i want to try this instead. thinking this would be a great breakfast item for me – as when C is eating breakfast i'm in full on multi-task mode and don't sit long enough to really eat anything – and even for C herself.
old school fudge brownies - i'm not sure if it's her photo or the fact that brownies have hit the spot lately – thanks to multiple friends who brought them over! – but we're in need of a dessert and these look like they'll be perfect.
bread – need to get back on track of making my own.
yogurt – same reason as the bread. it would be yummy with the baked oatmeal!
