it’s week six of our super summer schedule and it’s also our last week of summer vacation. wah, wah. next week we start a shortened school schedule before really getting into the swing of things the following week.
here’s what we’ll be doing this week :
make something monday : nilla wafer banana bites. the perfect snack that the girls can help make with little assistance. the fact that they have sprinkles guarantees a positive outcome no matter what.
take a trip tuesday : school shoe shopping. yes, i know. this doesn’t seem like a really glamorous activity but it must be done. the girls can’t wear open toed shoes to school which means no sandles. they’ll be getting a pair of sneakers, but i’d like to get them another pair as well. any suggestions?
wet + wild wednesday : water table. the water table hasn’t been out in a few weeks and i think it’ll be warm enough to get it back out. we’ve been so blessed by cooler weather the past two weeks which also means open windows and no air conditioning!
thinking thursday : color creep experiment. food coloring has been a big component of so many of our summer activities – might need to replenish my near empty bottles! this is an easy experiment that we can use to talk about colors and what new colors they make when mixed. the only dilemma is that i’ll have to find a neighbor to borrow a couple of paper towels from as i don’t buy them…
fresh + fun friday : diy lava lamp jars. i pinned these last week and know they’ll be a hit. i think i’ll even make one for myself!

fluffy stuff. 1 box of cornstarch + 1 can of shaving cream = a great outside activity. they were having a great time until one put the mixture in the other one’s mouth. ugh.
