Step away from the Trader Joe’s freezer case! This recipe is just as easy to prepare as opening a box from the freezer. An all-natural version that’s packed with flavor and ready for the dinner table in no time. These Copycat Trader Joe’s Chili Chicken Lime Burgers are sure to be a hit!
For those of you with a Trader Joe’s close by, you might be familiar with their Chili Chicken Lime Burgers that can be found in the freezer case. Love them! Until now… Thanks to my new condiment crush, Robert Rothschild Farms’ Chili Lime Sauce, I’ve created my own recipe that’s just as easy to prepare as opening a box from the freezer. An all-natural version that’s packed with flavor and ready for the dinner table in no time.
After a couple of months of colder weather, I start craving burgers. You know, the kind piled mile high with toppings and fresh from the grill? Nevermind that we have 3″ of new snow on the ground and I don’t know how to man a grill. Not to worry, I’ve taken manners into my own capable hands as these burgers are baked!

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1/3 cup Robert Rothschild Farm Chili Lime Sauce
- 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup red pepper, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1 lime
- 4 slices Pepper Jack Cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- In a medium bowl, combine chicken, Robert Rothschild Farm Chili Lime Sauce, red onion, red pepper, garlic powder, cumin and zest of lime.
- Divide mixture into four equal pieces and form into patties. Place patties on parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes. Place a slice of cheese on each burger and bake an additional 5 minutes until melted.
- Place each burger on a bun and top as desired.
Build your burger with your favorite toppings to make it one of a kind. I placed my burger on a lettuce topped onion bun and topped it with slices of tomato, red pepper and red onion as well as a splash of Chili Lime Sauce.
Forgoing carbs? This burger is also awesome in salad form on a bed of lettuce and using the toppings as salad fixings. The Chili Lime Sauce makes an out of this world dressing. Delicious!
