This Apple Pie Biscuit Casserole and I go back. Way back. Something like 15 or so years. You know those free recipe pamphlets that you can find at the grocery store checkout? That’s where this deliciousness came from. One of Andy’s favorite breakfast recipes when we were first married. That’s how I can remember how long it’s been in the recipe box that resides inside my brain. Can’t believe it’s taken me this long to share it!
It’s no wonder why my husband loves this Apple Pie Biscuit so much. Apple pie is his dessert of choice, or anything else apple flavored for that matter. He’s always not so casually dropping a hint that he’d love a Snickerdoodle Apple Crisp each week for dessert or can make these Mini Applesauce Muffins disappear in the blink of an eye. I actually have him to thank for bringing this Sugar Cinnamon Apple Cake recipe into our lives as well.
This seven ingredient Apple Pie Biscuit Casserole requires little effort, yet is always well received. Equally perfect for a lazy Saturday morning breakfast or a dressed up holiday brunch. This is also one of those recipes where if you have little ones at home, they can easily step in to help and feel like they’ve done the majority of the recipe by themselves. Definitely a big thing.
The shortcut to making this Apple Pie Biscuit Casserole come together in just 10 minutes? Apple pie filling. Using this single ingredient means less work for you. It’s simply doctored with brown sugar, cinnamon and vanilla and instantly becomes something more special than something found on your pantry shelf. And when you sandwich refrigerated biscuit dough between two layers of said apple pie filling, the result is absolutely comforting. It also makes your home smell down right amazing.

Although I used store bought pie filling for this Apple Pie Biscuit Casserole, you definitely could substitute Homemade Apple Pie Filling as well. More cans of filling in your pantry? It would also be delicious in this Apple Pie Cheesecake Fluff or this amazing Apple Pie in a Bread Bowl.
