If you were to ever ask me for my online biography – because you’ve been dying to do that, right? – you’d learn that I think that “anything tastes better with chocolate ganache.” For. Real. I’d say 90% of the time there’s a jar of the homemade stuff in our fridge. It’s my cure all for when the baby has decided, yet again, that napping is an optional activity. A spoonful of ganache from the fridge makes my afternoon with my babe, who swears she knows better than her mama, a bit more bearable.
A jar of my Microwave Chocolate Ganache in the fridge is how this kicked up version of no bake cherry cheesecake came to be. What started as an experiment has turned into a family favorite and our new must way of creating one of our favorite desserts.

This recipe was also the inspiration behind my Black Bottom No Bake Pumpkin Cheesecake and Black Forest No Bake Cheesecake.
Black Bottom No Bake Cherry Cheesecake
- 1 recipe Microwave Chocolate Ganache prepared
- 1 Oreo pie crust
- 8 ounces whipped topping
- 8 ounces cream cheese softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 15 ounces cherry pie filling
- Pour half of chocolate ganache into Oreo pie crust and refrigerate for one hour or until mostly set.
- In a medium bowl, add whipped topping, cream cheese and powdered sugar and beat together with an electric mixer until combined. Spoon over chocolate ganache and spread evenly over pie crust.
- Spoon cherry pie filling over cream cheese mixture and refrigerate to set, at least one hour.
- Before serving, reheat remaining chocolate ganache and drizzle over each piece.
Recently the food blogging community lost a shining star in our midst. Joan who blogged at Chocolate, Chocolate and More left this Earth much too soon yet left an impact on so many around her. I had the pleasure of meeting Joan at a conference last summer. I actually sought her out to say thank you for including one of my recipes in a round-up that she had posted on her site. To this day I still get traffic from her post. She didn’t know me whatsover but to this small time blogger, having a recipe of mine included on her site was such a kind gesture. And that’s just the type of person Joan was. Always lending a helping hand to those within our community.
