What better Valentine gift for a neighbor than a jar of homemade soup? A paper crafted label and tag adds a personal touch to this heartfelt gift.
We’re so lucky that the woman we share a driveway with has made us feel so welcome in our new neighborhood since day one. One night, during our first week in Cleveland, Andy had made yet another run to Lowe’s and I was unpacking when she knocked on our back door with a fresh loaf of zucchini bread.
I’ve mentioned several times that our neighborhood is a cross between Mayberry and a Norman Rockwell painting, right?
She reminds me so much of Andy’s grandmother in Wisconsin. We’ve missed seeing her during the winter months and as she lives alone, I came up with a valentine idea that I think she will enjoy. A jar of homemade soup. Perfect for this crazy cold winter weather that we’ve been experiencing.
I purchased a new canning jar and then used papers from the new Elle’s Studio Love You More collection for this project.
I love this patterned paper full of tags, including the cute envelope design which was a great size to embellish the jar lid.
I traced around the inner lid to create a template.
Then cut along my traced circle with scissors.
The perfect size and ready for my message!
I lightly drew along the inner edge of the lid so that I could place my sentiment without it being obscured.
So thrilled that Elle has released alphabet stickers! These are the perfect size for so many projects.
With my alphabet stickers in place, I could finish handwriting my message.
I used another tag from the same sheet of patterned paper to act as a label for my soup noting the contents within the jar, my Cherry Tomato and Tortellini Soup.
I can’t wait to deliver this to her on Friday as I’ll know she’ll truly appreciate it. I love when my love for cooking and paper crafting collide!
